The PIK3CA Detection Kit is a sensitive and specific assay for the detection of five mutations (E542K, E545K, E545Q, H1047L, and H1047R) in the phosphoinositide-3-kinase catalytic subunit alpha (PIK3CA) gene. The existence of PIK3CA gene mutations may lead to the spread of various cancers such as colon cancer, glioma, gastric cancer, breast cancer, endometrial cancer, and lung cancer. The kit employs mutation-specific primers and PIK3CA-targeted proprietary fluorescent probes to detect low-copy number (1%) PIK3CA-mutant DNA in tumor tissues.
